When BWM first launched the X1 Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in markets overseas, drivers fell hard and fast.

Sadly, the U.S. has been missing out on all of the fun this frisky five-seater brings. But our eyes won't be green with envy much longer. At last, BMW has decided to bring the premium, subcompact SAV to America. And as the name suggests, it promises utility enthusiasts a lot of "firsts".
For example, the BMW X1 SAV is the first in its class to offer an 8-speed auto transmission mated with the latest EfficienDynamics system, which now includes Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode and Brake Energy Regeneration. The X1 is also the first the SAV made by BMW that's available both with xDrive intelligent AWD and sDrive rear wheel drive.
Most important of all - BMW isn't just introducing the lauded X1 to the U.S. They've developed a U.S.-exclusive model: the X1 xDrive35i.
What about power?
Well, that all depends on you? Would you rather a 240-hp, 4-cylinder or a 300-hp 6-cylinder? The later pulls the X1 from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 5.3 seconds. Both have won awards.

Also, remember, if you're not in the market for an SAV but a sedan, convertible, or coupe, BMW offers many good options for you too, including the BMW 1 Series and 3 Series.
